Rotel is a family-owned business, founded in Japan over 50 years ago.
Our credentials in hi-fi have been earned by a devotion to creating audio and video solutions for fanatics like ourselves. We continuously strive to make home entertainment electronics that compare with products costing many times their price. We achieve this by being selective with raw components and through meticulous circuit design.

Audio critics have come to recognise Rotel as a manufacturer synonymous with value and performance.

It's all about the sound.
Much of Rotel's success in sound reproduction can be attributed to our engineering philosophy called Balanced Design Concept - a disciplined synthesis of physics, electronics and mechanical engineering.

Balanced Design Concept revolves around three principles: parts selection, circuit topology and critical evaluation.

Parts Selection
Our engineers spend countless hours selecting and testing parts from an array of suppliers to give our products the best reliability and acoustic advantages. It costs a little more, but we believe the benefits differentiate Rotel's quality from that of mainstream hi-fi manufacturers.

Circuit Topology
It's not enough to simply use better parts. Where you put them is equally important. That's why we rely heavily on something we call Symmetrical Signal Trace design. This keeps each channel's signal path identical to the others to preserve imaging and sound staging. We also use 'star' grounding techniques wherever possible to improve performance - a method of terminating all ground points in a star-shaped pattern on a single plane.

Critical Evaluation
We've found that human hearing is more sensitive than even sophisticated instruments in the hands of experienced engineers. That's why we run listening sessions at each development stage, and use our participants' feedback to refine the product before it goes into production. This ensures the performance of a new model is as good as it can possibly be.

From our beginnings, through to our 12 series and newest products, these are the principles we follow to deliver the best audio performance at a reasonable price.
