Thank you and congratulations to Marc and Ness Rushton. Another mammoth StereoNet HiFi & AV Show they and the team have achieved with much professionalism and success. Always a pleasure (once the drive from the Central Coast to Melbourne is behind us!)
The team from StereoNet compile a full coverage report of every room each year...we are glad they appreciate what our approach and presentation is all about...the music!
"The highlight of the Mcleans room was meeting special international guest John DeVore, founder of DeVore Fidelity, who was all the way from the United States. He was demonstrating the acclaimed DeVore Orangutan O/96 loudspeakers in Room 2204.
The system consisted of an Innuos Pulsar streamer feeding a Fezz Equinox vacuum tube D/A converter to a Rogue Audio RP-9 preamplifier and into a First Watt SIT4 single-ended Class A stereo power amplifier.
Despite its meagre 5 watts per channel of output power, it still drove the very efficient DeVore loudspeakers (96dB sensitivity, the clue’s in the name!). The sound was vibrant, effortless and dynamic – far better than a specification sheet would suggest.
The system had a fine tonal balance and resolution. Even with a few watts of power, the kick drum and bass guitar sounded realistic and really pressurised the room. There was good rhythmic drive, and percussion was handled nicely. It was a colourful and slightly warm sound, with a rich midrange that had real presence." You can view the full report here.
