The Optoma brand had its origins as early as 1992 under the Coretronic Group. Regional headquarters were established in the Americas and Europe in 1995 and 1997 respectively leading up to Optoma Corporation. The Optoma brand was born in 2000 and Optoma became globally established in 2002.
Making strides in visual display technologies, Optoma launched itself onto the international stage in 2002 by announcing the world’s first 65-inch DLP® projection television and winning the CES Innovations Award.
In 2005, Optoma announced the world’s first all-in-one DVD projector, followed by the world’s first 1080p home cinema projector a year later, and the world’s first palm-size pico projector two years later.
In 2014, Optoma acquired NuForce, a Hi-End audio company based in Milpitas, California to provide end-users with an exciting audio-visual entertainment experience. With the launch of the 4K UHD home projector in 2017, Optoma has remained the worldwide No.1 DLP 4K projector brand. And since then, Optoma has gone on to win one after the other ProAV related awards for its QUAD LED all-in-one displays and high lumens ProScene 4K UHD laser projectors for professional venues.
