'I've reviewed a gazillion speakers, and I can't remember more than a few dozen of them. They're just a string of big and little boxes; some sounded really nice, most were merely OK, and surprisingly few were truly awful.
Magnepan's speakers stand out from the crowd first because they're so thin, the MG 3.6/R is 1.5 inches thick, and standing 71 inches high, it's really tall. But it was the sound that blew me away. For this system we are using the Parasound P3 Pre-amplifier and addind two Parasound A21 Power Amplifiers switched to mono mode to produce 600 watts RMS each.

There is also the option to vertically bi-amp the system, we can explain that to you so you can experiment with the results and your preferred configuration.

The 3.6's deserve the best analogue or digital source that you can purchase...however, the Stello Signature DAC and Transport together with Audioquest Interconnects, and balanced digital cable for a $2,999 investment will reward you with exceptional value for money.

Upgrades to consider:
Upgrade the supplied Magnepan fuses to the Audio Tuning models for $99.90. 

Add a pair of speaker stands for $1,095, available by special order, they will improve every aspect of your Maggies considerable musical ability.

Delete the P3 pre-amplifier and add a DEQX Electronic X-over...by-passing Magnepans x-over, deleting the analogue pre-amp stage, electronically creating x-over points and then equalising your speakers in-room response, can be a revealation.

The Australian designed, and built, DEQX will add around $6000 to your investment and open up a window on your music that will be intoxicating...I have often heard the phrase that upgrading a particular component of a hi-fi system was like ‘lifting a veil' from the systems sound, well, adding and then calibrating a DEQX to your system and room can be more like ‘lifting a blanket' from your system.
