Magnepan MG1.7QR and 150 watt NAD integrated amplifier based system at $5,999
Congratulations are in order when you invest in a wonderful musical instrument such as the Maggie MG1.7QR. Correctly matched and set-up they will reward you with a lifetime of musical pleasure. The MG1.7 will perform well on all but the loudest, heaviest of rock, or electronic based music styles.
Music styles including jazz, rock, pop, blues, orchestral, country, gospel, soul will surely engage you with a natural three dimmensional presentation. The Maggie 1.7 is capable of being teamed up with most of the better amplifiers available for purchase, be they $2,000 or $100,000. And we have customers who have used larger surround sound receivers from the likes of Yamaha with their 1.6's [previous model to the 1.7] and they are delighted with the upgrade in sound quality when compared to the sound from their previous speakers, and as a stepping stone to a more suitable amplifier you can do that too.
But we do warn you that not all amplifiers are upto the task of driving Magnepans 4 ohm load, please check with us before doing so. You may also be able to add a larger Power Amplifier directly to your current integrated amplifier or receiver, and lift it's capabilities to drive your new 1.7's. For that purpose we would recommend the NAD C275BEE Power Amplifier priced at $1,499, again check with us to ensure your amplifiers integration capabilities.
On a modest budget, with the Magnepan 1.7, the NAD C375BEE 150 watt integrated amplifier is a worthy starting point for a suitable amplifier.
Should you have the means to go to a higher budget for your amplifier then we have other options for you from the likes of Parasound...their 200 watt A21 model Power Amplifier priced at $4,500 is a terrific match.
The 1.7's deserve the best analogue or digital source that you can purchase...we've included the NAD C565BEE $899 model.
