Mcleans installed their first Cinema Projector in 1989 and since then have been enthusiastically recommending the benefits of Home Cinema to anyone who will listen!
Surround Sound for the home wasn't available in 1989 so a stereo video cassette player connected to a home stereo was the playback option available...and we still recommend the option of stereo playback in place of surround for those after the highest quality sound for their particular budget.
Depending on your budget, you will always achieve a higher sound quality in stereo rather than surround
That's because your dollars divided between a stereo amp and two speakers will always be of higher quality than the same amount of dollars divided between a 5 or 7 channel amplifier and 5 or 7 speakers plus a subwoofer...you will miss the special 'surround effects' of the blockbuster movies, but you will gain superior sound quality in all other areas of reproduction, and your music will be more enjoyable as a result.
You can experience Mcleans dedicated theatre, with a 3.3metre wide 2.37:1 cinemascope screen and projector, with Digital surround sound, Blu-Ray Player, acoustic treatment and cinema seating.
